The entryway is the first thing you see when you walk through the door - and the last thing you deal with on your way out. Shoes, bags, jackets, all of it ends up piling somewhere. When there's no designated spot for any of it, that chaos lands right at your front door.

This one had real potential. The space just needed some structure. We built out a full mudroom nook right off the entry - a bench seat with open cubbies underneath for shoes, a coat hanging area with beadboard backing, and upper cabinets for anything you want out of sight. Everything built in, clean, and flush with the surrounding trim.

The door itself is a standout too. That dark iron-glass door with the decorative scrollwork pulls natural light into the entry and adds a level of character you don't get from a standard door. It anchors the whole space.

What we ended up with is a spot that actually works for a family. Drop your stuff, hang your bag, kick off your shoes - all in one place. The trim column detail that separates the entry from the dining area ties the whole build together and gives it a finished, intentional look rather than something that was just added on.

Small footprint, but a lot going on in the right way. This kind of work is exactly what we do - making everyday spaces in the home function better without sacrificing how they look.
